This is the story of my dog Mahru, and me pretentious know-it-all, and our fight to reconnect with the dogs we lost. It's also about my survival through addiction, suicidality, and a late diagnosis of ADHD and autism, also known as Audhd.
Every AuDHD story stands on its own, people are shaped by a their own set of (shit) circumstances. And yet, especially for those of us diagnosed later in life, there are striking similarities. Which I call AuDHD Misdiagnosis Bingo.
This list includes, but is not limited to, the following:
These misdiagnoses are not harmless. They misdirect a life toward wrong medications, harmful therapies, and a growing sense that the problem is your own personal failure, rather than a misunderstanding, which a lot of people struggle with.
With enough time, this leads to deadly problems like isolation, substance use, or even suicidality, only because the person has been treated as someone they are not.
If you're curious to read how this unfolded in my own life, you can find my full story in the main article on this site. (If you're not curious you can still find my full story here)
Beyond the main story, this site contains a growing collection of essays exploring themes of neurodivergence, nature, philosophy, and the struggle to understand ourselves and the world around us.
Each essay is an attempt to make sense of experiences that often feel impossible to articulate—from the specific challenges of living with AuDHD to broader questions about meaning, connection, and the search for belonging.
If you've ever felt like you don't fit, struggled to understand your own mind, or searched for meaning in a world that often feels disconnected from what truly matters—these essays might resonate with you.
